Dr. Demetrios Papadopoulos is Board Certified in Family Medicine, Integrative Medicine, and Medical Acupuncture. He received his A.B. in Biology from Dartmouth College and Medical Degree from Duke University. After a Pediatric Internship at Vanderbilt University, he completed the Family Medicine Residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
He taught Family Medicine in the Residency for 6 years and also practiced Family Medicine for 37 years in Mt. Pleasant, SC, until his retirement from there in 2016. In 2014 at age 64, he graduated from the Fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona, during which time he jokingly referred to his “late life crisis.” Subsequently, he began his studies in Medical Acupuncture at the Helms Medical Institute and became a licensed acupuncturist in the state of South Carolina.
In 2017 Dr. Papadopoulos founded Mt. Pleasant Integrative Medicine, LLC, where he offers services in both Medical Acupuncture and consultations in Integrative Medicine.
